WHAT IS IT WITH THE TOILET?!!
Nearly daily, I find Rex and Lyle in the toilet...and it's getting worse. Today, right about the time the kids were leaving for school (I think that is part of the problem---the rush...when people forget to close the door), I found them both---wringing soaked hand towels on each other's heads. Seriously, toilet water dripping over their eyes as they blinked sheepishly up at me. Not a happy moment. No pictures to say the least---straight to the tub. (Not a good "consequence" since they love the tub, but what to do?)
On the other hand, as I was doing dishes, it was a little too quiet. I walked to the other room to discover they had found a stack of flashcards and had strewn them everywhere. Uggh. I wondered if there was any chance they'd pick them up themselves if they thought it was fun. I went to the kitchen and got them a bowl and showed them how to put them in the bowl. I wasn't too hopeful that it would last long. To my utter amazement, when I returned a few minutes later, EVERY SINGLE CARD was in the bowl. I smothered them with "good job"s.

Today James and I spent the day in town doing early leg work for bids on building our home. Before we left Talmage was looking for something to work on. He has wanted to discuss allowances at every turn for the last week. We asked him to listen to L. Tom Perry’s Conference talk and prepare a family home evening lesson to discuss the topic. He listened to the whole talk and put a powerpoint presentation together of the primary points. He did a fantastic job! He also researched what Spechts use called a “family economy” and presented that. We settled on a plan for our family. What a great family night! What a great boy!
(Grandpa Wells also taught him how to chop kindling today and drive the tractor. What a day!)

Crazy Hair Day
Today was crazy hair day at school. When Talmage and Sariah were eager to participate, Hyrum wanted his hair done too. Bryant saw it as an excuse to wear a hat. When the participation prized were handed out, Bryant got one. Does that tell you what his hair usually looks like.
Today was Talmage's last basketball game of his first season. James and I missed the first half of the games while we were on the cruise, but just in the last week he and his team have come along way. Talmage scored 6 of his teams 18 points for their first win today. Hope to get a team picture here pretty soon. James and I are loving the experiences are kids are having out here in the Basin. In a couple of weeks, they will get to be a part of the Missoula Children's Theatre. Excited for that!

First Day Back to School
Two Hour Delay. They were asking if it was time for lunch before the bus even came.
When they returned from school, they burst in the door ranting about the supervised snowball fight they had a recess. Only in Basin City!! (Where there are also "Halloween" and "Christmas" parties.)Love it!!
