Packed Thanksgiving Week

I love having all my kids crash in front of the fireplace.  Maybe it's because I have such fond memories of doing the same thing with my siblings.

Found this picture on Facebook.  Our big, burly T looks like the little guy in this pic.

Talmage's classic wink on their 200,000+ view FB post.

Field Trip on Tuesday where we sailed our "Mayflower"s

Fount this gem on Facebook from a year ago.

Sariah's fans at the Turkey Trot

On the way I was worried what would happen when some of them placed and some of them didn't.  Dodged that bullet this time, they all brought home a medal.  Lyle, Hyrum, and Rex in their division in that order.  Sariah was the #1 overall girl.  Way to go!  (Bryant was playing football somewhere.)

So glad I got to run with my kiddos this year!

My signs for my first rally.  Kids thought they may have to come visit me in jail.  Wasn't nearly that exciting.

Annual "White Friday" since the temple was closed.  Take-out and reviewing goals in the temple parking lot this year.

Day after Thanksgiving Cousin Parties
at 351 with Gp. and Gm.

In the zone.

at 270.  So grateful for these relationships.  Celebrated Kyler's mission call and Carlin's engagement.

While Hyrum and I were subbing for Sariah at her job, President Green called James and told him that Talmage was speaking at Stake Conference and that we could watch on YouTube live.  How cool is that!?  Thanks COVID!

The 200,000 View Wink

Grandpa and Grandma's Mission Picture

Dissecting owl pellets for science this week.

Hyrum was a very meticulous scientist.

These are the three that worked the longest.

Delivering messages of gratitude turned out to be quite a treat for us.  Brother Perkins showed us his newly arrived dinosaurs for his Jurassic Park bed and breakfast.  The move and make sounds, pretty cool!

This week marks the end of the ceiling and trim.

I love to see all my students being friends with each other.

Sariah's in-person school got cancelled so she finally got to talk to Talmage.

Rex and Lyle made the coronavirus.

Yesterday we had a weird power outage.  It wasn't complete and there were some lights lighting and some weren't.  The neighbors had outlets buzzing and fans going really slow.  We decided to turn off our brakers and head to 351.  In papa's woodshop, Rex and Hyrum helped me cut out the pieces for constructing our Mayflowers at school this week.  It was fun to work with them, we need to find another project.  Since the house was cold when we got home, they all crashed in front of the fireplace.  For some reason, it is a happy thing for me to see them all gathered and sleeping in front of the fire.

These are Talmage's missionary roommates right now.  They are pretty talented.

This was posted 4 days ago and we have had fun watching its views sky rocket.

We were waiting the whole time for Talmage to join in but he didn't.  His part was a smile and a wink at minute 2:26.  I didn't catch the wink on the screenshot.  I told Talmage, someday some girl is going to say, "I know I recognize you from something, I just can't figure out what."

More LATE Nights

At 9:30 Monday night after family night, James suited up to prime the bonus room.

After a few hours sleep the next morning.

For our field trip Wednesday, we visited the Veteran's Memorial at Columbia Park.  Friday, we had the commander of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post come speak to our class.  It was fantastic!

Came home to see the shiplap being transported to the bonus room.

James has been working on the shiplap for the last few days.  Now Sariah wants a shiplap ceiling in her room.

Carving Pumpkins and Election Day 2020

Hyrum's final product from Papa's woodshop.

Strengthening the Family is carving pumpkins on November 2nd.

Talmage's influence is present, at least one more year of a Chiawana "C."

Dad bringing in the big guns.

Kansas City Chiefs for Hyrum this year.

Super cool effects for a intense scraping job.

Sariah's iconic pumpkins.

My Facebook Post on Election Day
Election Day 2020, a day not soon to be forgotten. This is a picture of our home classroom wall. I used to think these men were our brilliant founders, and religious. As I have studied them a little deeper as a homeschool mom this year, I’ve come to know more about their lives, their backgrounds, their stories, and their own words. I’ve come to a new conclusion. Generally, they were pious first, then brilliant. Because of their devotion to God, God made them brilliant statesmen, orators, writers, creators, and military leaders. He helped them be what they needed to be for the building of this nation, and He sustained them during intensely difficult times. Today we cast our ballots for the next leader of this country, a position of respect and great responsibility indeed. However, each day with our choices and actions, we cast our vote for the true leader of this land. There is one perfect Legislator, Executor, and Judge. This land will prosper and be protected as long as its people choose Him. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I forgive their sin, and will heal their land” 2 Chronicles 7:14. God Bless America!

Only on election night is a screen allowed at the kitchen table.  Didn't really matter.  Biden claimed victory 5 days later.
