Three Bugs in a Rug

These boys really like sleeping on the air mattress together.  Getting snuggled up under Grandma's quilts and telling each other monkey stories.  (I had to lay down some rules about the stories though---no aliens, no weapons.  "Jag" the orange monkey can stay.)

So Friday, the eye doctor blocked out the entire afternoon for the Hales family.  We started at 1 o'clock and kept him busy until closing.  He left all the office doors open and we all wandered pretty freely as we went through the different tests.  He was great with the kids showing them his cool equipment and fun devices.  It was pretty fun.  Bryant will get glasses for reading.  James and Talmage are going to try contacts.  Afterwards we all hit Burger King with some Christmas gift cards.  I don't think my kids have every been to Burger King.

That night, Sariah and I went to the Junior Miss dress rehearsal.  She sat on my lap and we whispered back and forth about what we thought and which dresses were modest.
  It was so fun.

Tonight, she and I went to her "Great to Be Eight" night.  She was pretty excited and we came home and read the first two chapters of her new baptism book with the boys.  I love that little girl.  I looked over at her in her pigtails on the church pew today and knew that my days with her as a little girl are oh so few.  No matter how I try to soak it all in, I already miss her with her toothless smile and silky pigtails.

Night Owl

Night before last, Hyrum fell asleep under a folding table behind the couch.

Last night, we found him asleep on Bryant's backside.

I had the thought today (I'm sure since we are able to spend significant amounts of time outside now and we're not going stir crazy), that once Rex and Lyle are potty trained, I'd just like to pause life for awhile and keep my family just where it is, everybody between diapers and middle school.
Doesn't that sound nice?

All's Well that ends Well...

...if the well is on the right side of the property line.

This would be the biggest bummer day we have had in a long time.  Yes, that would be our very expensive well two feet on the neighbor's property.  Still trying to resolve that one.

James and I at Seaside, braving the cold for our one and only photo.

When I checked one too many emails, Rex and Lyle konked out.

 Hyrum's birthday!  The Big 4!
Most of all, he wanted a Basin City Bobcat shirt.  He was also very excited about an aerobie from Gp. and Gm. Wells, an orange kite, and $5 from Gp. and Gm. Hales.  He wanted pancakes for breakfast, Ramen noodles for lunch, and pizza and pop for dinner.  He ended up eating Chicken McNuggets and french fries in the grocery cart for lunch as he picked out pirate plates, Mickey Mouse napkins, and Cars cups.

We are finally able to venture outdoors most every day.  Hallelujah!!

Last weekend, all the local brothers and sisters threw a surprise party for Laryn.  She's turning 20!  It will have bee 24 years that my parents have had teenagers.

"I missed you forever!"

We came home to hugs and happy kids.  Nothing sweeter than a little Hyrum's big hug and his words, "I missed you forever!"
