Gorgeous Autumn

Rex, Lyle and I have spent several afternoons each week hanging out at Mesa Elementary in the beautiful weather after school until practice or games start.

Playing, reading, and PB & Js.

Tailgate party before Jhett's football game in Connell.
Loading up at Gp's patch.  Luckily we had some help from Caiden too to finish by sundown.

God is good to us.

XC meet in Connell.  Hyrum wasn't pleased with his run.

Another early Saturday morning to go sell pumpkins.

One afternoon in the patch, Hyrum found this unclaimed kitten.  Super cute!

Probably a bit early for it to be away from its moma, so it needs a little extra TLC.

Monday, Sariah was inducted into the CHS National Honor Society.  It was so nice that she was dressed up, prepared and poised.

Not deer in the ditch this time, two very unintelligent recently weaned steers that had wandered far from home.

A very wet football game in Ki-Be, but a cute and persevering cheerleader!

Somebody suggested these two be hired for gender reveals :)

Apple Juicing 2022 included a quick trip and a short visit from Talmage.  We loved his company and his help!

The sun came out just in time for lunch...

...and some football.

Bryant's missionary plaque is up.  It is so rough for him and we feel so helpless but we are so proud of him for his perseverance and dedication.  His missionary scripture, Romans 8:18, is too perfect.

Birthday and Homecoming

Sariah was prepared and went all out for homecoming week.  Monday was Western vs. Hollywood Day.  She won the award for the whole junior class!

Tuesday, Sariah turned 17!  I had been working for a couple weeks to collect birthday wishes from people in her life to put inside balloons to surprise her.  Not surprisingly, I failed at the surprise (darn Apple watches) but she was nonetheless super excited.  Thanks to Aunt Taneil and Grandma Spechts we got it done in a couple hours.  She loved attacking them with a steak knife.

She decided she wanted to celebrate with her cheer squad and Dave and Taneil were generous enough to let us use the apartment after practice one day.  Meg Bleazard and Marlene came to serve and clean and I couldn't have done it without them.

She loved the decorations and the food, but was kind of quiet during the dinner.  I think she realized she loves celebrating with her family as much as she loves celebrating with anyone else.

Lizza definitely came through with the win on the cake and Sariah loved the Stanley cup Lizza gave her.

Friday was another beautiful night for a football game.

So many gorgeous October days.  The boys have been watching "Mighty Ducks" and have been in a hockey mood.

One beautiful girl--inside and out.

We laughed and laughed as I tried to help her with her hair and just couldn't make out what the lady on tik-tok was doing.  Sariah finally just kind of showed me and then I got it.  It was beautiful!

Homecoming with Jacob Freeman.

They doubled with Brandon Naef and Heidi Bybee.

Beautiful September!!

Sariah's First Game Cheerleading.

"Farmer Boy" back by popular demand.

Sure love having Talmage join our convos with Elder Hales.

Sariah got to go to the Othello Demolition Derby with the cheer squad.

Family Friday Night Lights!

Super fun to have a cheerleader and a football player in the family.

Dad's Birthday - Happy 45!

Rex killing it on the soccer field!

Lyle doing the same.

Rex and Lyle's first year of soccer has me in awe.  They play so hard!  They score, they pass, they are great goalies.  It's hard to believe they came into this world at 4 pounds and unable to breathe on their own.

Homecoming Date 2022 - Jacob Freeman

Aunt Terri decorated for our birthday visit to the Lakehouse.
It was a perfect day.

Boys had their wet suits on and they were in the water by 8:30 at 54 degrees.

During the afternoon, we all got in the kayaks and on paddleboards and went across the lake as a family.

A lot of rest and relaxation in one day.

Hyrum's turn to try to make it past Dad:

We got to go watch Jhett and his team accomplish their first victory on a beautiful night.  Hyrum may have been missing football just a bit.

Hyrum at Walla Walla

Sariah was able to borrow some boots for the cheerleader western day.  They were just what she would have picked out on her own.

Dad traveled to Walla Walla the next night to be with Sariah at her first away game.

Hyrum at Apple Ridge XC Meet:

Hyrum got 8th at his first Apple Ridge Meet - same as Sariah!
