6 Haircuts

It was haircut night.  6 usually means 5 boys and a dad.  Tonight, it was 5 boys and Jhett.  I hope Taneil still like me tomorrow---no more curls.

Grandma Wells, Sariah, and I went to the first Women's meeting for 8-year-olds and older tonight.  I wanted a three generation picture, but James had the phone.  I loved being there with her.  She's beautiful and growing into a responsible young woman.  Yesterday I went to the temple and the kids were left to babysit with specific instructions.  Mom said Sariah was amazing---taking care of Rex and Lyle, feeding them, cleaning up, and doing it all on time.  Yeah!  What a girl.

Talmage and James got the microwave, oven, and range hood installed today.  Talmage also worked on switch and outlet covers.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

During a beautiful musical number about the first vision in sacrament meeting, Rex turned to me with sincere eyes and said, "Jesus Christ appeared in mine heart."  Melts a mother's heart.
(Rug burn falling on the stairs if you were wondering.)

Laryn's Birthday

This sweetie was so excited to do something for Laryn's birthday.  Inside that envelope are two prized pieced of gum.  He did it all himself.

Guns

Couldn't help myself when Great Grandma picked up this gun and Hyrum jumped on the opportunity to fire back.

Won this home defense shotgun at the Lincoln Day Dinner.  EXCITED!!

Missionary Prep

Always with my companion!

Piano Recital

Talmage and Sariah had their best recital yet.
Sariah and I scooted off to the Junior Miss Dress Rehearsal, but Talmage made the photo.

Welcomed Sights

What was once such a common sight earned a photo moment because I miss it so much!

Springtime, and they are all mine!  (May I mention what great exercise it is to keep four kids going on the swings at the same time?)
Our first backyard get together with Spechts.  They helped pick up rocks and we had pizza on the back porch together.  LOVE IT!

Coming Along

James and Talmage working on hardwood.

In one of the last boxes James opened he found instructions---he installed the whole floor backwards.  Oops.  Still beautiful.

Paid to have the tile done in two days---so worth it!

Granite (slab #2 after their mistake)

Photo Contest

Just looking for the right photo contest for this lucky shot of Lyle:
 Amazing sky and colors---wow!

 Rex
Hyrum still wasn't feeling well, but I thought flying a kite in the fresh air and sunshine would help him feel a little better.  We weren't worried about PJs and pink boots at the time.

Yeah for sunshine!

Stomach Flu

We had a week of some pretty ugly flu.  Rex started out on a Friday night at Lizza's house and it seemed to move quickly and viciously through the family.  Bryant and I were the only ones spared (thankfully).
Popsicles and soda crackers.

Dad and Talmage putting together our chandelier after puking.

Doesn't Talmage look "sick" to you?  Actually, he made the BIGGEST mess I have EVER cleaned up.  Not soon to be forgotten.  Then he felt a LOT better.

Our Little Secret

One night, after everyone had fallen asleep, (since James isn't around to share in my late night revelries), I asked Hyrum, "Do you want a banana split?"  He said, "what's that?"  Deprived child!
Now he'll come up to me after everyone else has gone to bed and whisper in my ear, "Do you remember our little secret?"
So, we do this, while everyone else does this:

(This was actually Rex after a bad night, mid-morning.)

Cabin Fever

Trying to keep busy for just a little longer until we can be outside!

 Sorting buttons.

I'm pretty sure Sariah had something to do with this.

Dinnertime, to laugh or to cry?

First Pitch

Gorgeous afternoon!  Got the baseball bag out and started playing catch with the boys.  I was totally offended when Bryant said he was afraid someone would drive by and see him playing catch with his Mom!  Bryant, Talmage and I were in a Triangle playing catch and Hyrum, Rex, and Lyle, were all playing catch with me and they each had a ball.  All at the same time!

James is finishing up the wood floor tonight.  I think the thing I will be most grateful for when this project is finished is that I won't have to go to bed worrying about whether or not James will make it home safely.

"No eating snowflakes on Fast Sunday"

Bryant's words to Talmage as we are loading for church this morning.
