A Table for Eight

National Pancake Day. The one day a year that IHOP serves free pancakes is the one day a year we take our whole family to a real restaurant. Tonight was the first time since Rex and Lyle were born that we've attempted anything of the like. Everybody's happy. For James it's cheap. (We did order a side of scrambled eggs and a side of bacon as a treat.) For me, it's no cooking or cleaning. For the kids, it's a special treat. Even Rex and Lyle liked the pancakes.

(Today was a lucky to get through the shower day, but not lucky enough to have my hair done day. Getting used to it---just grateful for a shower.)

A little tardy for Valentine's Day, but hey it's still February.
Every year on Valentine's Day, I like to let our neighbors know how much we "love" having them as neighbor with homemade sugar cookies. Finally got it done today.

Hints of Spring

The wind has started to blow. Spring in the Columbia Basin.

Didn't stop these guys from enjoying temperatures in the upper 50s.

That is until I went out to take a picture and Bryant got upset, called his sister a name, had to come in and get his mouth washed out, and spend the rest of the evening in his room.

And it had all been so picturesque.

Try, try, try again

What do you do when have a certain challenge with a certain child and you pray and try, and pray and try, and pray and try, and nothing seems to work?

Today, I needed to listen to two of my favorite talks on motherhood.

Daughters of God by Elder M. Russell Ballard

and

Mothers who Know by Sister Julie B. Beck
