Birthdays are one of those mornings when I don't have to drag kids out of bed--even if they fall asleep again on the couch.
He got his BB pistol, a pocket knife from Bryant and a collapsable cup and Batmobile from Talmage.
The last two years, Hyrum's birthday has fallen on a No School Friday. His birthday wish---a Three Amigo Sleepover. This year, I surprised him with two nights, Jhett and Hayden were waiting for him after school on Thursday when he didn't expect them until Friday.
It started out pitching a tent in the wind.
I was actually pretty impressed.
Success!
Of course, by 10 o'clock the wind was blowing hard enough that the tent was empty
and the basement floor was full.
Over the two days they emptied two 500ct. bottles of BBs and several CO2 cartridges.
There were plenty of "tinks" on the metal swinging target though.
A trip to the library.
And the park.
Pizza for dinner.
And sleeping under the ping pong table.
Dave and Taneil gave Hyrum a tinker crate. What a fabulous idea! He made an automaton.
Works like a charm.
It is a joy to watch these boys work (and work things out) and play together. The Three Amigos is morphing into the 5 Amigos but I don't dare bring that to the attention of the Three Amigos.
