Rex and Lyle turn 8!

It finally came.  They were counting down in hours!

Aunt Taneil and Emma treated them to lunch at school--chicken nuggets, fries, and orange pop.  Emma liked Rex's fries.  He was so kind to share.

They had their hearts set on a snorkel set for a long time.  They chose a swimming party to try them out.  Grateful that Woodward's are so gracious to let us use the pool.

Grandma and Grandpa came to help and be a part of the fun.

Hyrum, David Bybee, Ethan Perkins, Jonah Hilme,
Seth Rosenlund, King David Rosales, Tal Tannon, Rex and Lyle.

FHE with our National Honor Society Riverhawk

Talmage has been a part of a very active chapter of the National Honor Society.  In addition to the high standards for entrance, he has been a part of many, many community service projects.

Way to go T!

Sunday Night Cousin Fun

With most people still in town, a good ol' cousin get together was called.  James got them going on this fun time.  There was also some sock wrestling.
Two generations of cousins.

James got in on it even in his white shirt and tie.

Mother's Day

These sweet notes from little people won't last forever.  I'm going to soak them up.

Melba W. Gibbons - A Woman with a Legacy

Grandma Gibbons passed away Saturday morning, May 4th, in the home she raised her children, surrounded by those children.  What an amazing life she lived!

Last 4 generation photo.  We've had many.

With all my siblings in town for the funeral, we had a triple crown celebration--Dad's birthday, Laryn's graduation, and Mother's Day.  Lizza catered, it's so nice to be somewhere we can all visit.

Dad turned 66 this week.  He plans to teach one more year and then retire.

Bear to Webelos

May 7, 2019
It's been a sketchy last couple of months in Scouts, so Hyrum finally received his Bear rank advancement to Webelos.

Good job Hyrum!!

Dirtied Down and Cleaned Up

May 4, 2019

It was fun until it wasn't anymore.  James and I just had to keep telling ourselves, "They are kids.  Muddy kids are happy kids."  Then came the cold water to wash off and it wasn't so fun anymore.

Colton Andersen, Talmage, and Zayne Maughn
Our 6'1" 200 lb. Talmage doesn't look that big between two of his closest friends.  However, he has decreased the contrast in the last 4 years.  He looked even smaller in his 8th grade graduation picture.
We sure think he is handsome.

Alex, Colton, Keldon, Zayne, Cole, and Talmage

Good looking group!!

Hyrum's Field Trip

April 23, 2019
It was Hyrum's turn to release his Salmon at Sacajewea Park.  It was a really nice day to have his field trip.

Rough Day

The day after Easter, we found out that Kyra had been in a serious accident with a golf cart.  It will be years of reconstructive surgery on her upper jaw to prepare for an adult implant, but it could have been so much worse.

Sariah made a care package and she and I visited the evening she had surgery.

Wednesday, we went out to Dad and Mom's to help with kiddos while Jennifer took care of Kyra at home.  Hyrum, Rex, and Lyle were happy to take the day off of school.

Get well cards to Kyra and Taryn.

Track Season 2019

Bryant on the left, Talmage on the right.  Waiting for their turn to vault at Chiawana.

Bryant Vaulting

Bryant running the mile.  He PRed, PRed, and PRed again.  He ended the season with a 5:13 mile.  We feel so, so blessed that his knees felt good enough to run, which they didn't just last fall.  He also grew an inch over the season!

Bryant at Edgar Brown.  His PR this season as a sophomore was 9'6".
Super great to see him succeed.

Talmage at Edgar Brown.  This was the day he finally accomplished his LONG held goal of 10'.  We were all so excited for him.

Talmage final home track meet.  At the Richland JV meet the first week of May, he vaulted 10'6" and then 11'.  We really are so proud of him!

His Senior teammates.

It was kind of tricky to pick up Sariah and the little guys after school and rush to track meets, but it was sure a fun thing to watch the big brothers.  They are great examples of good sports, not being afraid to try new things, and sticking out the hard stuff.
