"...and back again"---Welcome Home Elder Hales!

I dropped off a letter in the mailbox on Tuesday afternoon and this is what I found--Talmage's honorable release and Bryant's missionary tags in the same delivery!

"Elder Hales, Welcome Home!"
James used his skills for this impressive poster.

I made rolls and chicken noodle soup anticipating a hungry, tired missionary.

Rex and Lyle try to pass the time on Wednesday afternoon as we wait the long hours to go to the airport.

Our British flag is flying to welcome Talmage home.

Rex had been saving this new pair of socks for a long time for the big day.

Mother Nature rolled in the fog on the river for the British homecoming.

Flight is on time, but the minutes still tick slowly by.

Dax and Jen's Family, Bergesons, Spechts, Lizza and Parker, and Taylor and Tahnee's family were there to welcome him home.

The best hug!

He was super tired but he was up for a game of Catan.

His gift to the kids--the time it took to collect each of them a set of British coins.

I hope we've all grown as much as this prayer plant.

He slept a regular night and was up with the family then next morning for scriptures.   Nobody wanted to go to school, but they did.  Then Talmage helped Rex and Lyle finish their temple puzzle.

They were all eager to tackle the long awaited Christmas gift--Pirates of the Caribbean lego.

Thursday night was Sariah's basketball banquet, she received her basketball letter.

Afterwards, Talmage visited with President Larsen to be released.  He also got to say hello to Reichert who was accidently left behind when the rest of the family came to the airport.

Friday we went to town so Talmage could get some jeans for the family picture and some painter pants for working at the temple.  Then he had chinese food with Bryant since he didn't have any as a mandarin speaking Elder.
Friday afternoon was swimming and homemade pizza with Spechts.  Afterwards was the first movie back, Disney's "Onward."

Saturday afternoon was family pictures--the favorite part of course was throwing rocks at the river after the photo shoot.

Saturday evening we took Talmage to 5 Guys and then to the temple so he could at least see it, and then to the seminary building for a talk about what comes next.

So grateful to have him safely home and for the experience with which he has been blessed.
