Actually, September 1, 2015
The highly anticipated first day of school came and went without any school buses. It would be that way day after day until September 15th. Just about every night we would send kiddos to bed with First Day of School butterflies and wait for the 9pm email announcing the Teacher Strike had not been resolved. Of course, it didn't affect James and his new assignment as the Richland High School seminary teacher.
So, while we waited for school to start we decided to make the best of it.
Perhaps a delay in school wasn't all bad, we got a case of hand, foot, and mouth---for the 3rd time! This is Talmage's mouth, he didn't escape even at 14 years old.
One windy Sunday afternoon we decided to seize the moment.

Another batch of bread for summer bread and jam.
We went down to the river one day.
On several of those days, we went swimming at the Stock's, something we had done many times over the summer.
And, we made a deliberate effort to learn about and honor September 11th.
