Friday - Road Trip!

We stopped in Mobile and got a map for a driving tour and loved looked at all the historic buildings.

In Buloxi we stopped at Jefferson Davis's house right on the coast and drove past the adjacent Confederate Cemetary.

In the south, they have BRIDGES!

That afternoon we landed in the French Quarter of New Orleans.  James and I enjoyed the old buildings and history, but the kids were NOT fans.  We couldn't get out of there fast enough for them and it wasn't because of the heat.

Thought this sign was funny in light of COVID requirements.

This was Bryant--most of the time.

Sariah did find the crowns though!

And we got a family caricature.  Wish we would have had him include Talmage somehow.

Bye Bryant.

One of my favorite things was the statue of Joan of Arc.  I need to read to my kids about her.

The kids might not have appreciated the French Quarters (Maybe it was the drunks, the filthy language, the cross dressers, the voodoo shops, the fortune tellers, or the guy with the gun--I don't know.  And, we were only there for about an hour and a half in the daylight!)  But, they LOVED the chicken fingers!
