Wells Family Reunion Opening Ceremonies

July 1st marked the first day of our Wells Reunion 2020.  Honestly, it was what I have always dreamed our backyard would be.  It was cooler afternoon and evening than we expected for a July evening, and it was perfect.  We had a barbeque and EVERY member of Mom and Dad's posterity was present.  Kioa conducted our Opening Ceremonies and made it fun for everyone.  Grandma talked about what it means to be a champion, Grandpa talked about the torch and memorable Olympic moments.  Interspersed were dance numbers from the rising starts of granddaughters.  Grandma revealed Sariah's award-winning T-shirt design and Laryn divided the entire group up into teams.  We lined the perimeter of our property and passed the flame from sparkler to sparkler all the way to the new firepit doused with gasoline (great effect).  The finale was the gift of a giant check representing 10 years of saving for Grandpa and Grandma's mission fund.  We concluded with a dance party on the back patio.  It was a perfect opening to our Family Reunion Olympics!
